The topic for this photography contest is: MISCHIEVOUS CROWS.
Crows tend to get a bad rap, both on this site and in society at large. But what they lack in conventional beauty, they make up for in keen intelligence and uncompromising in-your-face attitude.
Your challenge is to produce a character study of a bird that the majority view as unprepossessing, unwholesome or downright sinister. Show through a photograph what they get up to or how they view each other or the world at large.
For the purpose of this contest, any predominantly black member of the family Corvidae may be considered an honorary crow. Rooks, ravens and jackdaws are welcome. Sorry, jays and magpies, but you're far too flash!
Creative approaches, including mixed-media photography, are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
This is a photography contest. Edits of photography using software are permitted. No digital art or traditional artwork should be submitted.
This contest requires "blind" entries. That means your posted work will have no means to identify you when viewed. Your name and other information will not be shown. Do not include any identifiable information (such as a watermark that you commonly use or that includes your name) when posting. Fan notifications will not be sent for work posted in this contest. It will still be available in your portfolio and treated like all other posts. But when viewed information to identify it with you will not be shown until after the voting is completed.
The First Prize Winner will win the complete "Prize Pool"
which is based on the number of entries. The Prize Pool is currently 30.00 member dollars. There are 5 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 40.00 member dollars.
In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
