The topic for this photography contest is: UNDER THE SEA
UNDER THE SEA is the title of a song from the 1992 Disney movie THE LITTLE MERMAID. Some of the lyrics to the song are as follows....Perhaps it will help get you in the mood for some UNDER THE SEA photo taking....The seaweed is always greener in somebody else's LAKE You dream about going up there But that is a big MISTAKE Just look at the world around you Right here on the ocean FLOOR Such wonderful things surround you What more is you lookin' FOR? UNDER THE SEA UNDER THE SEA Darling it's better Down where it's wetter Take it from ME While we devotin' Full time to floatin' UNDER THE SEA
From the beautiful waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands to the vast ocean of Puget Sound; from Panama (where you can get your feet wet in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in one day) to the incredible underwater world of the Maldives; from Los Roque in Venezuela to the waters of Perhentian Islands in Malaysia; from Koh Lipe in Thailand to Cayos Cochinos in Honduras; from Ambergris Caye in Belize to Culebra in Puerto Rico; from Wakatobi in Indonesia to Bahia de las Aguilas in the Dominican Republic, our oceans contain an abundance of wildlife and are home to some of the most magnificent and unusual creatures on Earth. This contest gives you the opportunity to share with us a photograph of one or more of those creatures (from a wide variety of fish to starfish and Caribbean lobsters to graceful sea turtles or the coral reefs).
Submit a photograph that somehow incorporates the topic. The photograph should clearly be about the topic. The photograph should NOT contain any humans nor should it only contain an UNDER THE SEA ocean landscape. The photograph submitted for this contest should be of some kind of living plant or animal life found UNDER THE SEA . Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
This is a photography contest. Edits of photography using software is permitted; however, only the slightest of editing should be done...nothing major. The photo should remain as close to what it looked like when you first took a snapshot of it. No digital art or traditional artwork should be submitted.
