Art For Art's Sake
Art should be judged for its artistic value. When themes are chosen, too often it is the work which best represents the theme that is the winning piece without consideration of the artistic value of the art itself. However, a piece of art should stand on its artistic value. Colors chosen, composition, originality of the piece, and its ability to invoc an emotion, good or bad, should be the voters only reason for casting a ballet.
