8th Letter/English Alphabet/Upper
The topic for this general photography contest is The 8th Letter of the English Alphabet in Upper Case.
Yes, you have to first figure out what that letter is.
Once you have figured it out (smile), then go out there and search for something that looks just like it; something that nature (which is more appealing) has created that looks just like an Upper Case 8th Letter of the English Alphabet or something man made (less appealing but ok is all else fails) that resembles that letter....not the LETTER itself. Make sure it is upper case. For example if it were the letter B, your photo should resemble a "B" NOT a "b".
Please do not take a photo of the letter itself in a word that you see on a street sign for example or in the name of a store or a place you visit, etc. For example, if the letter were a Z, do not take a photo of the letter Z in the name depicting the San Diego "Z"oo. AND do not make the letter yourself out of something. For example, do not go to the beach and collect a bunch of shells and make the letter Z in the sand. It has to be created naturally so to speak. Also do not create it digitally. This is just a simple photo contest. No major editing authorized. ONLY MINOR edits please. Do not change the photo in any way in order to create that letter you are looking for.
Submit a photograph that somehow incorporates the topic. The photograph should clearly be about the topic. Only minor Edits of photos are permitted. Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
No digital art or traditional artwork should be submitted. Do not take a photo of a painting that has this particular letter as its subject. Do not create the letter yourself with something. Just look around. For example if it were the letter O, there would be plenty of things resembling Os....a donut in a bakery (Yes it is a man made item, but You DID NOT make it, therefore you could take a picture of the donut), a round cloud with a hole in the middle, spaghettios, a tire, a wedding band.....But if you visit a circus and there is a clown with balloons that he bends into various creatures and shapes, do not ask the clown to make you an O and take a picture of it. Most of all for this contest, I want you, the photographer, to have fun finding the letter, then of course taking just the right snapshot of it, and last but not least....submitting it for this contest.
Anyone having the incorrect letter of the alphabet will be disqualified immediately. No second chances given in this contest.
