Kerikeri Basin is a very picturesque spot in the Bay of Islands where two of New Zealands oldest buildings are situated. Stone Store was built in 1832-36 as a storehouse for the mission and Kemp House was built by the Reverend John Gare Butler in 1821-22 as a mission house. St James Church is overlooking the two buildings and was opened in 1878 being the third church on that site.
