Gorge Wildlife Park in the Adelaide Hills and I had just taken some photos of the fruit bats in their cage and about to head off when I saw this little flutter of feathers moving on the floor. Closer inspection revealed the mother bird trying to encourage the chick to stand but still staying close to the 2 eggs yet to hatch. This was taken through the wire mesh fence Focal length 55mm F11.0 1/500s
