Trail to Pinnacles,

A chapter in the book Road Trip Holidays

Rocky walking trail

Once again this was taken in the Grampians. We took a road to Wonderland Carpark and the sign suggested a walk to Pinnacles. This walk started off nice and easy and then as we went around the bend discovered that it turned into rocky steps up and down with the occassional handrail. After half an hour we stopped near the water to rest and enjoy the rock formations which are layered created over thousands of years. Unfortunately it was late in the day and we decided that we would be unable to reach the final destination Pinnacles lookout so returned to the carpark. The trail was marked medium grade walk but unfortunately due to hip and back issues I found it pretty hard going and would only suggest it if you are reasonably fit.
