Black Saturday, February 7th 2009 will always be remembered by not only the communities that suffered loss of life (173 people), homes (over 2000) stock and pasture but by all those involved in the trauma and despair after the bushfires. People from all over the country showed compassion and gave generously to try and help communities rebuild their lives. This mural was created to represent the many memories and thoughts of people. Each dark tile represents a fire affected area with black representing a loss and grey a home that was threatened but saved. Every tile representing a unique story.
