Flying into land in tree branches

A chapter in the book Birds

Sulphur Crested Cockatoo #2

This is the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo coming into land in the tree where it squawked and let me know it was there and commenced playing hide and seek in the branches. (see yesterdays post) They normally fly in flocks so unusual to see a solo bird. They are popular as pets but I much prefer to see them in their natural habitat. They are long living and have been known to live up to 80 years in captivity but then you wonder what the quality of that life was!
