The billabong in the Wittunga Botanical Gardens hosts plenty of birdlife including the purple swamphen. Purple Swamphens are proficient swimmers, but prefer to wander on the edges of the water, among reeds and on floating vegetation. This one came reasonably close to enable a portrait photo.
