Lucien van Oosten was born on the island of Java, Indonesia, he came to America by way of The Netherlands in 1957.
Lucien has been drawing for as long as he can remember.
Lucien is proficient in pencil, pen & ink, colored pencil, mixed media, computer created images and painting.
He loves to create in all the media stated.
As of June of 2005, he has started to offer his works of art for sale.
He has won several contests. The contest submission
California orange-gold was the first place winner in the contest The Color Orange Photo Contest.
Magic Man, the Power was the first place winner in the contest Magic Man Art Contest.
How I remember the 50's. was the first place winner in the contest Nostalgia the 50's.
He is a top ranked traditional artist and is currently holding the #58 position. He is a ranked traditional photographer and is currently at the #92 spot on this years rankings.
The Diamond committee has rewarded him with 3 seals.

Artist Notes
this is another postcard design I did for the Lancaster Museum of Art where my work was on display. This is one of four images that they wanted me to do so that people who came to the show and could not afford the work, could still walk away with an image of my work. The show was successful and one of may pieces won an award. I have a few of these postcards left, so if you like the work and want to support a fellow artist, please order one or a set. Cheers.
