The name GOPart is derived from the artist's three initials, GOP, which also happen to be the initials for a major US political party. It is also a play on POPart, which describes her style. She was born in Montreal and is of Greek decent.
GOP first started drawing as a child approximately 35 years ago. After losing interest in the art, she attended McGill University in Montreal and graduated with a BA in Classics. She then went on to study acting and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC.
GOP's initial artworks were on canvas. Approximately 13 years ago, she began drawing within the digital medium. Not owning a Wacom Tablet back then (not sure if one even existed), she would first draw the works by hand and then scanning the image into a Mac IIci. From there, the tedious task of manually cleaning up the scanned image would begin.
GOP draws her inspiration from the arts, including music, history, film and fashion. Her specialty is portraits, shoes and the human body in general. Over thirteen years, she has amassed an extensive portfolio of digital art creations and is excited to be sharing them on FanArtReview.
Generally, the initial lines and outline of the artwork are originally created in Illustrator and then imported into Photoshop for coloring, airbrush, gradients and any other effects or filters which may be added.
