Many reviews wanted to view this in black and white. I might add, Willy never really opens his eyes totally, but after getting to know him better, on one occasion I did see that he has beautiful stark blue eyes.
Update: Finally got warm enough, caught Willy out 3/17/2005, gave him the color portrait, framed. He cried for about 3 minutes saying they were happy/proud tears, thought my heart would explode--
Update: 8/22/2005 You can read the continued story in my portfolio, 'Talkin' about Willy'.
I visit Willy twice a month taking him a large garbage sack of cans that he crushes and saves for his granddaughter's education. We crush the cans together and just talk about 'stuff', he loves for me to stomp cans with him as much as I love just spending time with him, arm still in sling, problems with 'frozen' leaders in arm, still the charmer with tremendous inner warmth and compassion.
I have copied Willy's story below for those that haven't read about him.
'Introducing Willy'
Ladies, Gents, and 'others' (my category), this is William "Willy" "Bad Mutha" McDonald. I have been stalking Willy for over four years. I live in a tiny town in the foothills of Colorado where Willy 'hangs'. I was drawn to this man from the first time I saw him. I inquired about him with many towns people and the only answer I got was, "He's just the town drunk." Well, not to me, I saw an older man of amazing character. I finally caught him out one day sitting on his barrel next to the trailer park dumpster. Finally, I had my camera with me. I pulled up and introduced myself and told him how much I admired his character and may I take his picture. He was thrilled and found me amusing, wanting a photo of him. After our brief photo shots we talked. I didn't find out a lot about his past, but I saw such amazing charm in this older gentleman. And wouldn't ya know, he is a retired fellow biker from the 'Hell's Angels'. Now that's my kind of man! I left Willy vowing to return with results of our brief encounter. I have many questions for Willy and will get some answers from this charmer!
