SCTaft is a photographer/
photo artist. For 35
years he has done an
enormous amount of
wedding, portraiture,
and landscape
photography. With the
advent of digital imaging
in the early 2000's he
has used his artistic
skills to develop his
idea of photo
manipulation.
Taft received a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree in
1977 at a major
university. There he
studied and was
influenced by French
Impressionism and
Fauvism. This left him
with the trademark of
pushing colors
(the primaries as well
as the pastels) and
leaving an image which
represents real
people, places, and
things, with an
emotional twist used by
his artistic
manipulation.
Taft feels like he has
reached his goal when
someone views his work
and asks, "Is it a
photograph or a
painting?"
His autumn series was
shown at Agora Gallery
in New York City in
October of 2007 with
other exhibitions at the
Center of Fine Art
Photography in
Ft. Collins, Co. and the
San Diego Fair for 2
consecutive years. This
claims to be the 4th
largest fair in
California.
He has won several contests. The contest submission
Dot's Diner in Bisbee, AZ was the first place winner in the contest Neon.
Delicacy from the Undelicate was the first place winner in the contest Flowers - Photography.
Blossom from Cereus Cactus was the first place winner in the contest Traditional Photograph of the Month.
He is a ranked traditional photographer and is currently at the #46 spot on this years rankings. He is a top ranked mixed media photographer and is currently at the #5 spot on this years rankings.

Artist Notes
Sorry to change the weather mood here on the front page. All the snow images are beautiful! But this landscape is typical of the weather out here. But we do get snow on the mountains. I'll have to go up there next week and do some snow work in order to blend in with everyone.
Shot this one in the late afternoon west of Tucson, AZ. My favorite time of day. 4PM or later.
