Sirthomas1960 lives in the back-blocks of rural SE Victoria, and is an amateur artist, writer, renovator, and gardener who would love to make a living from any of the above...but as a recently single dad to the most handsome and clever 7 and 9 year old boys in all of Australia, and quite possibly anywhere else, he finds just surviving their childhood is far too much of a time filler to allow his creative pursuits much more than fleeting interest.
He has been interested in art from an early age, and worked in mainly oils until the last decade or so, when he started to dabble in coloured pencil, and then watercolour pencil. Almost exclusively his work is traditional, and very realistic, but he craves the ability to be more expressive in his artwork...to just let himself go, so to speak wistfully.
Since joining FAR he has discovered the joys of digital art, and can now create to his heart's content without the worry of having his two mini tornadoes making a bomb site of his humble home...now he just wishes there were more hours in his day!
Now selling prints (or trying to!), framed and unframed, from US$14.24 at his online store at http://sirthomas1960.imagekind.com
...and also from AUS$19.50 at http://sirthomas1960.redbubble.com
He has won several contests. The contest submission
Canal Life was the first place winner in the contest Urbanism Art.
Chocolate Romance was the first place winner in the contest Food - Art.
One Last Stand was the first place winner in the contest Digital Painting of the Month.
He is a ranked digital artist and is currently at the #5 spot on this years rankings. He is a top ranked mixed media photographer and is currently at the #43 spot on this years rankings.

Artist Notes
Love the visual jumble of European cliffside towns, the way they cling desperately to their precipitious locations, the random mishmash seemingly ready to tumble down the hillside at any moment.
Just wanted to show that vibrant clutter of colours and forms in one of my "looser" paintings. Hope you enjoy.
