This painting is an abstract exlporation of colour, which was created in Westport on the west coast of Ireland, thus the title " Westport". My passion for colour has always dominated my work, it is a nonobjective piece allowing the viewer to enjoy the layering and application of colour. Painting is a visual language for me, my brushstrokes are the verbs, as Rothco said a painting is like a play, the shapes and colours being the actors.
