Potatobugs in a Shipping Yard is about 2'x3' and depicts an organic vs industrial debate. it is a requiem for the state to which nature has been reduced, in order to coexist within the world we have built for it.
the work was first created with paint on canvas, using geometrics of colour, then scraping paint across in a Gerhard Richter manner. next paint was applied in a less controlled way, with hands and clothes, as opposed to brushes. lastly a photo transfer (medium built up over a photocopy image) of a self portrait of the lips, was applied to the centre of the painting.
