This is a Mourning dove, the common wild dove in the east. He has a hollow mournful song. This is a game bird, they are hunted in September! They are very fast flyer and are hard to hit. You must be a good shot to hit one! They come to my feeder year round. When they fly there is a whistling sound as their wings flap. I am using an Olympus E3 camera with a 70-300mm lens ISO 300 750/sec f8 hand held.
