This was taken July 12, the baby's hatched July 4. I have been watching for this on a daily basis. I would not miss this for any thing. I was sitting on the ground watching and waiting. The parent bird does not like me being there. She will fly around and move from spot to spot then will fly off. This day she did the same, but this time she came back and ignored me. I was at a bad angle to shoot being on the ground, but it is the only way she tolerated me. When I saw the baby stick its head up I was so excited I was hardly able to hold the camera still. This has truly been a once in a lifetime event! I am using an Olympus E3 camera with a 70-300mm lens ISO 200 250/sec f22 Olympus camera mounted flash set on TTL auto
