Artist Notes
This all started from a photo I took of a deer laying is a field, just a tiny speck on the photo. I used the shape of the deer and painted the deer the best way I could see it. Deciding during the course to change the doe to a buck to make the painting much more interesting, adding the non typical antlers and beefed up the deer to make him look like a true buck. I normally paint in the back ground , but with this painting I started with the deer. After completing the deer, I decided a forest setting would capture more attention. so I Painted in a deep in the forest scene making the buck part of his back ground and with the naked eye not easy to spot. Painted all free hand with much of my imagination at work here.
Painted in acrylic on a masonite board.
