Colors Are Everywhere Contest Entry
On a visit to Belfast in 2006 we took an "on/off" bus tour through the city. The history of "the troubles" was shown with a lot of street art from then and current times depicting the pain and violence of the times. The barbed wire above some of the art is part of the "peace" fence which is still in use today, the gates being closed each evening to divide the protestant and catholic sections. I entered this as a colorful reminder of the history and to show that colors can be used in so many different ways. In no way am I trying to make a political statement I enjoyed our time in Belfast and was intrigued by its history.
