I shot this photo in the rain to capture the flower's beauty (Hibiscus syriacus, also known as "Rose of Sharon in North America). It blooms in late August-September. Using my Fuji Finepix camera on SR auto, iso 100, 1/105, I made several attempts to get this shot--no tripod, so it was difficult to be still enough. The Rose of Sharon has strong Biblical connection--Solomon 2:1, but it's not likely this is the one referred to. Jesus is referred to, as the Rose of Sharon. This flower is pink in color. The "Rose of Sharon" has been used in lyrics for ages. Joan Baez sung a song "Rose of Sharon, and Bob Dylan referenced "Rose of Sharon" in "Caribbean Wind."
