Do you find these reptiles amazing, I certainly do they tolerate such hot and dry conditions in Australia and unfortunately have to put up with we humans building roads across their territory creating a totally different hazard - the road kill. Also recently one of our foremost members of parliament was at a fund raising event where people had collected a number of the sleepy lizards, painted numbers on their backs and decided to race them. Fortunately this one is well away from the roads etc and safe in the Innes National Park, only has to put up with camera wielding people trying to get the shot of the day :)
