Artist Notes
The Yorkshire Dales are favourite places for me. When I was a Girl Guide we hiked and stayed in Youth Hostels in the Dales. I've always liked the rolling hills and loneliness of the landscape. This is Walden Valley which is not far from the Aysgarth Youth Hostel. I used water soluble oil paints on a loose canvas for this.

I was born in Yorkshire and after living in the south with my eldest son and granddaughter for several years, I have now returned to my beloved Yorkshire! My daughter, son-in-law and grandson live in New Zealand as he is a Kiwi so for the past few years I've been travelling between the two. My youngest son and his wife and my latest grandson live about 3 miles away so I'm able to see them often.

~I have enjoyed painting for many years but took it up mostly after retiring - my boss gave me a painting holiday in France as a retirement present and I then won a Paint a postcard competition with the SAA. I did the first part of an Open University course in Watercolour and passed this before embarking on my travels. I did sell some of my paintings whilst living in Yorkshire and also Suffolk and had one accepted for a Ferens Art Gallery exhibition in Hull.
