Snapshot of Auckland

Auckland's Sky Tower, 328 metres, is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand and offers breathtaking views for up to 80 kilometres in every direction. For the brave and those with a good head for heights there is a base jump of 192m at approx 75km per hour for 16s - and if not quite so brave you can do the Sky Walk which takes you around the outer edge. Myself I stayed within the glass panoramic walls on the 52nd floor - carefully managing to walk over the glass tiles placed strtegically around the floor so you can look downwards. The view shown here is the Southern view of the most populous city in the North Island of New Zealand approx 1.4m people. Not bad as the whole population of NZ is only 4.4m.
