Artist Notes
This is a private gate down to the dock at the Oakland (California) Estuary. It was viewed from the outdoor cafe behind a hotel in Jack London Square.
I took the picture because I liked the lines and shadows, and decided to enhance with a filter. I usually do traditional photography, so note this is mixed media.

I'd been taking pictures on vacation for years, not ever knowing what I was doing, not getting pictures that I liked, and being too pre-occupied (with first my dance/choreographer career, and then music, which continues today as a teacher and performer), to try to really learn something. The change came, as it did for so many people, with my first digital camera, which I acquired several years ago. Finally I started getting somewhat closer to what I wanted.
The education has been bumped up a lot by this site, and I want to learn more. I welcome feedback.
