I was out at one of my favorite parks taking nature pictures on March 8th of this year when I saw some bright ballons tied to a bench. I thought someone must have had a birthday celebration there so went over to investigate.What I found was NOT what I expected.
and caught me off balance.I saw a teddy bear, a birthday card and a plaque.

THe plaque read:

In loving memory of
Evan Douglas Marcoux
For a short while we held an angel in our arms

March 8, 2008 -August 31, 2010


According to the plaque Evan died when he was almost 2 1/2 years old. I did not know Evan or his family, but I was deeply touched by this loving memorial. Evans family must have been here shortly before I arrived....it would have been Evan's 4rth birthday. I can only guess that at his young age this must have been a special place for Evan to come to with his parents. I could almost picture him feeding the ducks and geese here.
I said Happy Birthday too!
