My fellow artist,Cynnocence asked me some time ago if I could translate her poems on to the canvas. I was at a loss as to how to convey those deep emotions wonderfully penned by her on to the canvas! It kind of scared me. Today, in a sudden burst of inspiration, I have gathered enough courage to do one painting based on her poem as a tribute to her multi-faceted talent. I only hope that I have not let her down. Enjoy!
CELTIC FIRE NIGHTS BY CYNNOCENCE
Fire and Ice, blazing blue and rashly red
Heat which sears my brow.
Flickering centre- red, yellow, orange
My eyes rendered sightless by the flame.
Expelled from the centre,
my Cross shining true
Metamorphasized, its outline Celtic.
Dank silver to my tongue
Yet clutched to my breast in desperation.
I raise the Cross above my head
Molten metal leaks through my fingers.
Dropping as a snake, it writhes
Passionately coiling about my feet,
and disappears.
Overwhelming sadness, true sense of loss,
Fire flashing white, emotions ignite.
The burning of the snake soul
generates intense heat
I am draw closer to the flames.
Doric Column of white emerges
The Phoenix perched atop
Feathered body immortal
Aloof and regal it glowers.
The face of my lover and Changeling I,
Fire flashed and we are joined.
We preen each other's feathers
Our bodies meld, reborn as one.
