Artist Notes
I was recently commissioned to paint a portrait which would be given as a gift to her girlfriend. It is of her girlfriend's parents. Her mother died only 2 years ago leaving a big hole in the family. There were no pictures of her parents together in a time when she was well. So that was my commission; to express that love and bond between them. It was recently presented and the girlfriend was reduced to tears, her father was reduced to tears. She has not had the heart to take the portrait home, but leave it with her father, who kisses it each time he walks by.

Geraldine Evans loves art, but more than that she loves how art can affect her and the world she lives in. Geraldine thought she couldn't be an artist unless she joined in with the 'pomp' of the Art World. She felt suffocated and so sidelined her art and so sidelined herself.
Waiting in the wings until she became much older and wiser, she picked back up her brush and now... she can 'breathe'
