Artist Notes
This is a rose that has now exceeded it's life. I think it's still beautiful. Roses have a way of taking on new life after they are gone, it's like the details of the petals come alive. This particular rose was given to my daughter as she received an award with her Interact Club which is sponsored by a local Rotary Club. She was voted Interacter of the year by her peers. This club is for kids between the ages of 12 and 18 and they volunteer in the community and abroad. This past February she took part in a playground build in Hopkins, Belize. The yellow rose is a great symbol of friendship and the piano symbolizes the children's laughter as they played on their new community playground. That must have sounded like music, hearing the kids so excited over things we take for granted. It is the biggest build to date and the experience for my daughter, as I'm sure the others involved, was absolutely eye opening. She made some great friends during the trip and the friendships she had already are now stronger from the experience they shared. Sony a330, Sigma Macro lens, f/16, 8.0s, ISO100, 105mm Focal Length, tripod, no flash.
