Artist Notes
This powerful Golden Eagle is North America's largest bird of prey [weighing up to 12.5 pounds] and is the national bird of Mexico.
It is one of the largest, fastest, nimblest raptors in North America.
Lustrous gold feathers gleam on the back of its head and neck. While its powerful beak and talons advertise its hunting prowess.
You're most likely to see a Golden Eagle in western North America, soaring on steady wings or diving at speeds of more than 150 miles per hour in pursuit of the jackrabbits and other small mammals that are its main prey.
This photo was taken with my Canon T1i Camera with a Tamron 18-270 mm Lens. Handheld, 1/200 sec; f/6.3; 100 ISO .
Small adjustment to lighting; cropped; Resized for FAR

Rebecca was born with a love for animals, and nature as a whole. Throughout her life, she has always had a very close relationship with nature, seeing animals as individuals who share the planet with her. When she decided to take up photography as a hobby, it just came natural to photograph the things she loves.
Her expertise is taking photographs 'up close and personal' so she can show the individual animal's personality. This has resulted in many exquisite photographs that touch the heart and has won her many awards and much praise.
Just recently, she made the decision to share some of her beautiful photographs with the world.
