Artist Notes
This lovely granddaughter of 7 yr. always poses with the same fixed smile. I've wondered why many times and my conclusion is that being the oldest of three girls she has a personal resolve to be and stay in the spotlight. A drama princess for sure (aren't they all) who has a lot going on inside herself. With her large bright eyes she is taking in everything and tries out everything that she thinks she can handle. Aye, there's the rub. Contrary to what she can do the things she can't do put her in a defiant mode. Still, she is sweet and sensitive to her sisters and likes to help them out. Her sensitivity to erroneous situations cause her to withdraw inside herself where I sense there is a spot of loneliness. In time this smile will become genuine for sure, I just know it.
