This is a White tail deer fawn. This was taken last year in the spring. I was trying to get some shots of a red bellied wood pecker. There was several big trees and all around was corn growing. I was leaning against a big oak tree and this guy came out of the corn and was walking to where I was standing. I hid behind the tree and waited. I had my long lens and was ready when he got close to me. He was licking the dirt for some reason. He heard the shutter clicking but did not seem to bother him but when he finally saw me then he turned and showed me his white tail as he ran back to the corn field. I never saw his mama or any other fawns. I watched for several days and did not see him any more. This is something that just happens, nothing could be planed, it is a perfect example of being at the right place at the right time.
