Artist Notes
I was on my way to the Farm, my usual haunt to get some good shots when I noticed the sun rising over this floded old forest that is now a swamp. The way the the trees now devoid of needles and leaves (in some instances their branches) were in perfect silouette against such a hazie but still somehow a golden moment.
Out of the corner of my eye I noticed the Heron fishing right beside the road, so I pulled over well up the road. I was prepared this time and with my camera on trypod I left the truck and gently closed the door. For it being so darn early the traffic was crazy and before I could get to a good position he flew away. After doing a couple of circles I had though he had gone. I set up to shoot the sunrise and my to my amazement, there he was again....decided why not, try for a silouette. I purposely left the tree on the righ to provide a anchor and the heron positioned just above the hazy horizon (even remembred to straighten it, LOL) I hope that all the dead trees aren't to much of a distraction, to me they add an extra touch and help to provide a border to start the eye traveling up through the shot on the left side to find the heron, feet way out behind with a slight curl in the wingtip, showing a downward wing flap...please let me know if I am see to much or something thats not here at all, as well as how I treated the morning light...was expermenting, LOL.
Hope you hall have a wicked awsome day

Hubbie and I grew up in various proviences along the east coast of Canada, Yep the north Atlantic I shoot very little land or seascapes except when on vacations or holidays When I am shooting at home and away I shoot a lot of close up macro shots of bugs and butterflies, birds and flowers would have to be my favorite next to our six, four legged kids. Three Dogs and the same number of cats, always a picture to take, LOL
