My friend had asked me if i could create a wallpaper for her computer & android phone. So using her favourite colours i created this from scratch.

This piece here has been created completly on my computer. No stock or tube images have been used.

Using Photoshop CS5 ext, Fractalius software, Tiffen DFX v3, Nik Color Efex & Alien software.

I started with a 300mm x 230mm blank canvas, black. Then using CS5 i rendered 3 seperate light flares. I created a duplicate layer & twirled my light flares...giving the wrap around effect. You could also warp this or liquify it. I duplicated the layer again & added a chrome effect. Changing the blending mode & opacity i allowed for silver edges with partial colour.

I added another 3 layers of light flares then 2 rainbow halos.

The butterflies were created using brushes on a seperate document. I then used fractalius software to glow them. I copied the butterflies & pasted on my image. Changing the colour of each using colour picker so that they would match my base palette. After adding them i free transformed them to rotate & apply size difference. So that they looked like they were floating up. I changed the opacity to help with the blending & contrasts.

I then added light rays to the white holes....creating a more 3D effect. Using levels & curves & 8 adjustment layers i enhanced the colours & contrast.

Then i made a coffee & closed my eyes.
