Artist Notes
Instantly recognizable as the national emblem of the United States, the bald eagle has long been a key symbol in the human cultures of the Americas. And, is the only eagle unique to North America, found from Alaska and Canada to Northern Mexico. [About half of the world's 70,000 bald eagles live in Alaska.]
Its distinctive brown body and white head and tail make it easy to identify even from a distance. But, it does not develop its distinctive white head and tail until it is between 4 and 5 years old.
Bald eagles love fish! When fish are not available, bald eagles will eat whatever they can catch including small birds, rodents, and dead meat. Plus, Bald eagles have no problem stealing food from other birds!
This photo was taken at the Fort Worth Zoo through a wire enclosure with my Canon T1i Camera with a Tamron 18-270 mm Lens. Handheld, 1/200 sec; f/6.3; 1600 ISO .
Small adjustment to lighting; A little Cloning in Background; cropped; Resized for FAR

Rebecca was born with a love for animals, and nature as a whole. Throughout her life, she has always had a very close relationship with nature, seeing animals as individuals who share the planet with her. When she decided to take up photography as a hobby, it just came natural to photograph the things she loves.
Her expertise is taking photographs 'up close and personal' so she can show the individual animal's personality. This has resulted in many exquisite photographs that touch the heart and has won her many awards and much praise.
Just recently, she made the decision to share some of her beautiful photographs with the world.
