Artist Notes
This was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado of the Mummy Range. I was a little late in getting there because I was photographing another location earlier and was on my way home. I stopped here at this location where I had never stopped before and ended up with batter shots than where I was before sunrise. I liked this in color too, but liked it better in black & white. I had it enlarged to 16X24 and hung it in our living room. So many photos I like initially but over time fade in my appreciation. This on has not.

I began my life as an amatuer photographer in 1974, with film. I enjoyed photgraphing wildlife and nature, but worked mostly with portraiture at that time. I began developing in my own darkroom and learned the artistic creation that was possible there, particularly with black & white.

I moved away from my hobby in the 90's as the digital revolution began and although easier to take and store photos, the quality was not there. I've recently had a resurgence in my interest in digital photography because technology is again returning the quality that I so much enjoy.

He is a ranked traditional photographer and is currently at the #78 spot on this years rankings.
