Artist Notes
I took a really pretty landscape photo and ruined it with HDR effects. It was one of my first attempts at HDR. Chromatic aberrations and silhouetting were pretty prominent and it made the photo look like something from another planet. I'd have never guessed I could use it, but this contest makes it possible. I added a moon photo that I took last winter and also a "ghost like" cloud that I photographed, just missing some beautiful coloration. I had fun with this and it's my first attempt at something like this. I hope you enjoy it!

I began my life as an amatuer photographer in 1974, with film. I enjoyed photgraphing wildlife and nature, but worked mostly with portraiture at that time. I began developing in my own darkroom and learned the artistic creation that was possible there, particularly with black & white.

I moved away from my hobby in the 90's as the digital revolution began and although easier to take and store photos, the quality was not there. I've recently had a resurgence in my interest in digital photography because technology is again returning the quality that I so much enjoy.

He is a ranked traditional photographer and is currently at the #79 spot on this years rankings.
