I ran across this abandoned old brick hotel in the downtown historic area of Shreveport, LA. Although abandoned and not in use, the door was open. It was dark inside, with no lights on. I stood at the bottom of the steps looking up to the open doorway, wanting to enter and explore, but too scared for some unknown reason. I have explored many old abandoned places by myself, and was never scared...not even when the rotting floor of one place gave way. But when I looked up the steps beyond the open door, I was filled with such a sense of dread that I have never before felt. But I keep thinking about that place and what is beyond those door. Maybe someday I will get the guts to finally walk up those steps and go through the front door to....

Stacey is a retired police officer from Maui, now residing with her husband, four dogs and four horses in Northeast Texas.

She has been intersted in photography for many years, having studied it in college back during the days of film.

She now has a small studio and does weddings and family portraits, although she prefers photographing animals and land and cityscapes. She used to be the photographer for two local horse clubs during their horse shows.

Stacey has won many awards with her photos and has had many on exhibit at a local art museum.

She is a top ranked mixed media photographer and is currently at the #23 spot on this years rankings.

The Diamond committee has rewarded her with 1 seals.
