This is a photograph of the Cup and Saucer plant (Cobaea Scandens) grown by me from seed. Each bloom on the plant is the same colour although they do come in a white version too. The light was just right, the bloom more or less perfect, so I framed the flower and captured the shot using a macro lens.

I am a gardener of long standing and a photographer of not such long standing. I find the two subjects go hand in hand. I also enjoy antiques and I like to enter consumer competitions. For images of my garden, plants and insects, please visit www.images-by-susan.com
I live in the countryside where there are plenty of photographic opportunities. However, my favourite form of photography is macro which I use a great deal when taking images of flowers and insects found in my garden.
I write once a month for a nationwide gardening magazine: I have my own website and more of my work is being shown by a stock image agency who specialize in flower/insect images.
Finally, over the course of many years I have won lots of prizes associated with gardening.
Last year I had two of my photographs commended by Kew who run the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. These appear in their book which is published showing all the winners.
