I had always thought we were part Jewish on my mothers side- though her forebears all showed NO religion on their papers. All seemed to point that way, hence when moving to Sheffield I visited the Synagogue and painted several small pics. I had no reason to fear as my mum was totally relaxed and sought out Jewish cloth sellers to chat about the old days, as I watched and listened..How wrong can you be! But to stab their most loyal friends in the back with murder of the whole family, bit by bit just to steal art work and literature.. using the ways of Hitler and Stalin.. I still find it difficult-
