Our stay at Mannum on the River Murray earlier this year and the pelican swam by scooping the water to try and catch lunch. The hook on the top beak looks as though it could do some damage to any fish which happens to be swimming by - didn't see this one have any success with its catch but imagine he would eventually succeed.
