The day was very hot but we decided to walk around the Wetland Trail for the short loop walk. There were many features of interest as we wandered along the trail but the one that was noticeably missing was water. There was a small pool at one point but this low lying area appeared to be one of the larger catchment ponds and was totally dry. Not unexpected as we have had one of the driest summers in South Australia for some time while we watch on TV pictures of the massive floods causing devastation in Queensland. Australia is such a unique country which is emphasied more and more in these days of climate change.
