Spurn Point is a 3 mile long peninsula curving out into the North Sea at the mouth of the Humber. It is only 50 yards wide in places and often in winter it can be cut off. The Humber Life Boat crew stay at the end of the Point. Up until last year there were a few houses and the Life Boatmen and families lived there but now only the crew stay there when on duty. On one side is the North Sea and on the other side the Humber estuary. This lighthouse is on the North Sea side. I live not far away from here so we have often had lovely picnics here. I used water mixable oil paints on a canvas block for this.
