Spurn Point is a narrow peninsula about 3 miles long near to where I live in Yorkshire. The east side of the peninsula faces the North Sea and the west side faces the Humber Estuary so the water is very different depending on which side you are. In winter the high tides often breach the road on the peninsula and at the moment the tip, where the Lifeboat station is situated, is an island as we've had some very high tides and winds in the last few weeks. The Lifeboat crew have to access the station via the water at the moment. I did this sunrise painting looking out to sea on the east side, showing the choppy sea. I used water mixable oil paints on a canvas board for this.
