I don't really like the lions enclosure at the Adelaide Zoo as it seems rather stark and not particularly natural. They also have an open range zoo which we will be visiting at the end of March which is much more environmentally suitable for the lions. There are two female lions and the male lion behind chain wire mesh. I tried to ensure the lens was focused through the holes of the mesh and was reasonably happy to get this - have tried several times on previous visits without much success.
