taken yesterday in the bay of Cannes; there is a confusion about the name on the internet: this is supposed to be a black-headed Gull( Chroicocephalus ridibundus), very common in Europe, who is often Brown, not black! The Brown-headed Gull ( Chroicocephalus brunnicephalus), who is always Brown, is restricted to Central Asia, from Tajikistan to Mongolia); the pictures of the two specvies on the net are identical!
