The Capybara baby is around 4 months old and as you can see is already quite large. Adult Capybara grow to around 64cm (25") in height and 134cm (4ft) in length being the largest rodent in the world. The closest relative is the guniea pig. Native to South America they have a range of vocalisations including purring, barking, whistling to grunting. They are also excellent swimmers, they can stay under water for up to five minutes; this helps them hide from predators such as Pumas and Jaguars.
