Happy Halloween to all on FAR!
This is one of my older creations, but I thought It would be adequate for today.

This is an mixed media which was edited in Digital Image Suite.
The original was a photo of a creature made from bamboo roots. The creature was decorated with pieces of white tulle and organza for a special event.
I cropped the photo and saved 3 copies of the crop. [I never use the original to work with.] I saved one copy for reference and converted the other two to black and white [monochrome] than converted both copies to negative. I used a distortion filter [star 1] on one copy and an accentuation filter on the other. I created a blank canvas which I tinted with light blue color at 80% transparency using a coloration brush. The tinted canvas was used as basic layer. I added the copy which was treated accentuation filter as second layer and used the transparency brush 40-100% partly on it. Afterwards I added the distorted copy as third layer using the transparency between 20 and 100%. Finally I adjusted the second and third layer with the screw tool until I was satisfied, than I adjusted exposure and color. I saved the file as MDI and a copy as JPEG.
[I save the work files usually on an external hard drive since those files are big and otherwise clutter the vivid memory of the computer]
