Giraffes sitting down which is unusual

Took this one back in July when we visited Monarto Zoo and we had just got off the bus to the giraffe area. They were the full 300m away up against the fence but found it interesting that some were seated and one resting its head on the other. I have never seen them sitting down before and understand that it is unusual.
